New dogs - Old dogs

This is Duke - our new Aussie puppy! I will have pictures tomorrow with his new cast. It's really pretty sad!

This is Cocoa - our chocolate lab - she's almost 7 years old! In case you can't tell - her expression is one of complete disdain for the whole process!

Cocoa is actually pretty smart but she is extremely stubborn and temperamental! If she doesn't want to do something - she isn't going to do it! I have picked her up a couple of times to put her in the back of the car when we were having to take her to the vet. She hasn't ridden a lot and she does not like it! When we moved from Nebraska back to Texas, my spouse fixed a large enclosure that would ride in the back of his pickup to bring Cocoa and Beau (a red bone coonhound) to our new home. He said he received a lot of waves and grins as people passed him or he passed them. He had these 2 beautiful dogs sitting in the back of his pickup looking out at the people behind him! Must have been a truly funny sight!

Duke's leg was broken in 2 places but fortunately did not require surgery. The doctor put a cast on his leg and said to keep him from running or jumping around for the next 3-4 weeks. Yeah right!!! We'll do the best we can. Hopefully everything will heal as it should.

As far as work on the kitchen - now it's delayed until the middle part of next week! Hopefully once they start it should go fairly quickly.
