Be the Best - Part II

I had several comments on the post yesterday - each one special. Encouragement comes from a lot of different areas but I find it very interesting how you get to know something about someone from a blog post! The ones I read regularly, I feel like I know them a little better each time I read their posts. I think it is a sign of our times - this blogging and the the fact that you can remain anonymous - even when posting some pretty personal things! In my job - I deal with people all day long and it is truly amazing how hard some find it to communicate with others. Customer service is quickly becoming passe and uncommon. A lot of students do not have any idea what good customer service means or even what it is supposed to look like. That is truly a sad sign as it also means we are losing (or have already lost) our consideration of others. This generation is focused completely on "Me" and if it doesn't help or benefit "Me", it won't be found! We have tried to instill in our children, the understanding that this world does not revolve around them. Now don't get me wrong - I want them to have good self esteem. What I do not want is for them to think that their wants and needs supercede those of someone else. After all - isn't that the true picture of love - "... lay down his life for his friend." Jesus gave us the ultimate example of customer service in love. A blogging friend - Frasypoo - has posted about some areas where she and her spouse serve others. What a wonderful example she is to me!
