Today is my daughter's baby shower. Her little girl is due around the 9th of July. As we were getting things rounded up, I was amazed at so many things that are different. When I was pregnant with her, I couldn't find out if we were having a boy or a girl. Now they find out early. I have even had a couple of employees at work ask if they could go ahead and add their child to their health insurance before they are even born! I just have to patiently inform them that the qualifying event is the birth of the child - not conception!
We were looking at the stroller. It is really cool with all the gizmos and gadgets! They should get years of use out of it! There are multitudes of other baby items as well - bottle options, nipples on bottles, pacifiers, teething toys, play toys, learning toys, etc.! It boggles the mind! I heard a comment on the radio this morning (KLove with Jon and Sherry Rivers) about a Beverly Hills Birth club. They have designer bibs, shirts, etc. Even the process of having a baby has changed dramatically. Now you pick the birth date - well sort of - you pick the date for them to induce labor. That is no guarantee that will be the date of birth! Some things are still under God's control - actually everything. He just allows us to think we have control!

It shocked me too when I first came here .....In India epidurals are fairly new !!

I dunno... I always think it's best to leave everything up to God. Anything else is messing with nature..
