My View

I have missed this for the past few days - was out of town visiting family in DFW Metroplex. I had forgotten how muggy it can be!

I saw an article on Fox News about Rosie O'Donnell leaving "The View" and viewers were no longer watching the program. You know - I did not watch her show when she had her own show. I certainly did not watch while she was "The View". In fact, I quit even trying to watch this program because I would be almost livid by the time the program was over! The take of the women on that show was for the most part, over the top-left wing liberal!!! Rosie certainly did not add a differing point of view from the other women on the show. Elizabeth Hasselbeck, however, did at least offer some sort of sensibility. This flap about the argument allowed to be viewed on TV - I think a lot of it was hype to bring viewers in. I tend to have a rather tainted view of items like that. They often are marketing tools and not true "Off the cuff" remarks or discussions.

I also do not watch Oprah! In my humble opinion - people have placed far too much faith in what Oprah has to say and not nearly enough faith in what God has to say! Oprah continues to opine about her faith and her religious views, but the words coming out and the actions seen do not match the Bible that I read. There are very few that I can say have lived their faith out in the world. Dr. Billy Graham and his family (even with all their warts and - yes - they have faults and failures just like the rest of us!), Kirk Cameron, President and Laura Bush (though I think he is terribly wrong on the immigration issue!) - these are some of the ones that come to mind quickly of living out loud. Oprah speaks the words but does not live the life! In addition - a lot of her "wisdom" she tries to impart to audiences is not in line with Scripture. Our lives are a reflection of what we believe and who we believe! If our belief comes from God and our faith rests in Him, it cannot help but be seen. If it comes from our own ego - it may shine for a time, but it will quickly fade and will fail us when we need it the most! Every one of us has failed someone in our life (probably more than once!). Every one of us!!! Now as to those living out their faith - there are a lot of people I have watched through the years who continue to live out their faith, irregardless of their circumstances! They allow their faith in God and His faithfulness to carry them through and they give God all the glory, when He does!!! I could name them, but that could take away from their glory in Heaven one day! Each one knows if their life is one of those "Lived Out Loud".

Is yours?

"But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." II Corinthians 3:16-18 (NIV)

Glad you are back and back with a bang. You have echoed my sentiments and most of all my husbands.I am not sure if I said this before but my husband has always said that Oprah was the antichrist and he has added Obama and Hilary to that list.
I have always felt the same way about Oprah. She acts like she is Christian but then when someone talks about their faith in God she starts talking about a universal power!I personally think she may be a Christian but she is trying to please all her audience !Never watch her show.
Hate "The View "too.Too many opinionated women squabbling aways!
Its strange that we are two completely differant women with the same point of view!(you and me and not Oprah and the gang!)

Thanks Frasy! Sisters (and brothers) in Christ tend to share similar views on those things that matter! I think it is very cool! Tell your husband I think he might be right - although I also think Bill Clinton could be right in there with them!
